Volunteer with Mission Viejo Recreation and Community Services: seniors, teens and events
The city's Recreation and Community Services department lists programs and events that accept volunteers, and calls volunteering a way to give back to the community and directly help those in need.
Who can volunteer. The department lists these qualifications: be at least 15 years old, have a valid email account that is checked frequently, be able to interact with staff, volunteers, members and guests, and not be volunteering for court-mandated reasons.
Programs. Volunteer opportunities are listed for the Senior Volunteer Programs, the Senior Meals Program, Teen Volunteers and the Marine Adoption Committee. Special events that take volunteers include Senior Events, Family Fun Nights and the Marine Adoption Committee. The city's main Volunteer Opportunities page also names Oso Fit (a 5K), Adaptive Tennis and other sports, and the Senior Leadership Committee.
How to start. For general questions, contact 949-470-3061 or RCS@cityofmissionviejo.org. Ask the department about application steps and time commitments when you reach out. Information on donations and sponsorships is on a separate Donation and Sponsorship Opportunities page.
